Modest Monday

Carbon is 3 weeks old today. In those 3 weeks, I have gotten dressed a whole 4 times (and just for half the day, if that!). Twice to go to the store, once to go visit a friend, and yesterday to go to Church. Yesterday was the 1st time getting back into a skirt. And I’m not feelin’ it at the moment. Maybe its hormones, maybe its because my body is not back to pre pregnancy, or maybe its because we just moved and I have a newborn. Or maybe its because I’m not working anymore and I don’t have a reason to dress up. Or maybe, just maybe I’m over wearing skirts……….

So I will feature our 5 year old daughter in her adorable Deborah&Co denim ruffle skirt that she got for Christmas. Cipher enjoys dressing herself, and wears a skirt every day. Even if majority of the time her skirt doesn’t match with her top or leggings, she is free to choose what she wants to wear and it makes my heart very happy that it is like this outfit and not like what she see’s on T.V :)

You look great, girl. Be easy on yourself. You’ve just been through some major changes, all at once, too. Most women don’t have a baby, move, leave a job…all at once. I’ve been there, just take it one day at a time. You’ll be feeling back to your old self in time. BTW. Cipher= adorable! What a cute little lady. Hugs to you and praying for you. You’re doing a great job. :-)

I totally agree with Jenny above. Please be kind to yourself! I have gone through some times in my life where massive changes happened and looking back I wish that I had been more patient with myself (and my family!). It will all work out. Everything will fall into place. A new normal will take over and you will wonder what your life was like b4 the big changes. Our God knows what He is doing the whole time (even if it feels like sometimes WE don’t). If I lived closer, I’d make you a big ole pan of homemade mac and cheese for dinner and a pan of brownies for desert (I wouldn’t even make you share the brownies!). Big hugs and God bless you! Jennifer

Your girl is adorable!! I always felt “off” after having each of my 6 kids, nothing was working for me. I think you look great. You’ve had alot of major changes all at once. Enjoy hanging out in your pj’s with your kiddo’s.

Please don’t stop wearing skirts! you’re a huge encouragement to me!! I don’t know anyone locally that shares (any) of my convictions so visiting blogs like yours helps me feel a “little” normal!! Cyper is adorable, btw!
P.s. You don’t have any followers that are in AL besides me do you?
